The Missouri River looking over to the Nebraska blluffs.
Greetings to you on this first day of 2013! I have had a much needed vacation that included a fun-filled visit with family and am now refreshed and renewed. I am looking forward to many good things in the coming year and am curious to see just how the year will unfold. None of us knows what is really in store for us (a good thing, no doubt!) and the new year is a time of reflection....looking back to see where we've come from and looking ahead to see what paths might yet be worth pursuing. After a trying time during the latter part of the past year, I am now feeling lighter and back in balance. As I rethink my artistic practice and my Etsy shops, new ideas are surfacing and I am once again feeling back in the flow. I'll have some new work to share with you in the coming days. I do hope the first day of the year has brought you fresh hope and a sense of renewal! Hope you have a fine week....see you soon!
Hello Patti - what a lovely post for the beginning of a New Year. I wish you every happiness this year in both your personal and creative lives. I am quietly excited about this year ..... last year was a tough one for many. Sending a hug across the miles. xsusanx
ReplyDeleteHi Susan....I know it was a rough year for you as well last year....hoping this year is uplifting, filled with joy and hope! May the creative practice bring you new, fresh insights! Great to hear from you!

DeleteHi Patti, oh what a beautiful winter wonderland!Glad you are back on track and ready to enjoy your art again. Happy New year to you!
ReplyDeleteRobyn, hope you are enjoying a fresh start in this new year! Best wishes to you....the winter wonderland is beautiful, but it's pretty chilly here!!
DeleteIsn't the New Year a wonderful time -- so much promise ahead of us. I love the feeling of wiping the slate clean and beginning afresh as the year starts. Hope this coming year is your most creative and fulfilling one yet!
ReplyDeletePenny....yes, I agree, it is a wonderful feeling to be able to wipe the slate clean and start fresh. Returning all good wishes for a creative and fulfilling year ahead for you as well!
Deletewhat lovely view! i've been looking out for an update from you, although i was no better at keeping my blog/online presence updated through the holidays. there is so much to reflect upon and dream up, it gets overwhelming to share. i hope you have a wonderful new year filled with exciting adventures, breakthroughs, surprises, fulfillment and delicious scotch. ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Anca...happy new year wishes! Yes, there is much that can be overwhelming, but allowing yourself to begin again is such a treat....knowing anything can happen! We did a blind scotch tasting over the holiday at my brother's house....and almost everyone voted the Lagavulin as no.1, including me! I'm afraid my beloved Talisker came in no.3 out 5....the peatier and smokier the better for me! Cheers to you!
DeleteA lovely, thoughtful and inspiring post - wishing you the very best for the New Year. :)
ReplyDeleteHedera....thank you so much for your kind words! Best wishes to you for the coming year....joy and happiness to you!
DeleteHappy New Year, Patti! Wishing you all the best! I'm looking forward to seeing what new directions you take in 2013 with respect to your work and the "great balancing act." What a gorgeous photo!! Thank you for everything you share here.
ReplyDeleteHI Gloria....hope you've enjoyed a wonderful start to the new year! The possibilities will unfold before us....wishing you a time of creative fulfillment ahead! Cheers!
DeleteHello, dear friend, good to see you back and optimistic! I'm feeling the same. Will be giving a 2.5 hour class the 9th - on having a daily practice. I have dreaded the whole ideas of it, but taking time to mull it over in my mind has made me realize I've learned a lot that might actually be worth sharing. I was so hopeful no one would sign up and my reaction was more expletive deleted than joy when I found there are at least 7 takers.
ReplyDeleteI need to explore the scotch you wrote about to Anca - maybe that would be a nice reward after the class, eh?
Take care. Be gentle with yourself. And Happy New Year!
Well Karen Anne....what a great thing you are doing to give a class to introduce others to the idea of a daily practice. Great idea and I know it will be wonderful....wish I could take it! You'll have a great time, I'm sure. And yes, a little scotch as a reward afterwards is a fine thing....I was promoting Talisker, but I've since realized that the Lagavulin is actually peatier and smokier, which is what I'm after. Enjoy!!! Best wishes for a wonderful year ahead!
