The dailies continue....when I can fit them in. They don't always actually happen on the very day, sometimes a day later, depending on how life intervenes. That bothers me, but I remind myself not to get to rigid about things and to allow life to unfold of its own accord. The point is to commemorate the day, in a way....to notice it, to make note of it....to leave a trace.
Tomorrow is another work day for me at the library, although it is Saturday, but then Sunday and Monday are my weekend. I hope you all have a fine weekend and I'll see you early in the week....until then, take care and enjoy!
I find the dark background an interesting challenge. Lovely work. Have a great weekend(from after tomorrow!)We just came back from our vacation and it feels like tomorrow should be Monday. How confusing!xx
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Annamaria....yes, the black is an interesting challenge! I just finished going through some of my blogs (I'd fallen quite behind lately!) and saw some pics of your vacation....looked lovely!! Hope it was a good one and you are feeling refreshed! Have a good week.
DeleteI love the image from the 24th very much. I do not know why.
ReplyDeleteHave a good day at work :)
Thanks Erin....maybe that one is a little more contained somehow and not filled with such randomness as they others. Glad you like it!!
DeleteYour dailies are wonderful! Black and white, with a touch of red especially, is one of my all time favorite color combos. There's something about July 23's drawing that speaks to me. Thank you for sharing these!
ReplyDeleteHi Jennifer...yes, black and white with a touch of red is one of my favorite combinations also....classic! I'm glad to know that any of these works speak to you...always nice to hear...thank you!
DeleteThe first one is full of energy. The orbs move! Love the drawing for the 25th too.
ReplyDeleteRobyn....I like those strange orbs in that one....didn't know they were moving tho! Thanks...glad you like these!!
DeleteI love the words "to leave a trace" - so evocative! I shall remember that. Your work is always so lovely.
ReplyDeletePenny...I guess I'm always so aware of the passage of time and how it slips through our fingers. Maybe the drawings are a way of slowing it down....and leaving a trace does describe the impulse. So glad you find it meaningful! Thanks for your kind words!
DeleteI like the addition of color on these, Patti. And yes, that first one is full of energy! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Gloria. The color is amazingly vibrant against the black of the paper!
DeleteStunning!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks Pat!
DeleteAs always - spontaneous and delicious. It was strange to read 'to leave a trace' ......... I chose my blogspot name with just that feeling in mind. Not just on a personal sense of leaving my mark or evidence of my having been, but in a larger sense that we as humans, have found ways to make our marks and leave a very definite trace of our existence by way of writing and drawing. And oh gosh, some of us do that so magnificently.
ReplyDeleteSusan, I've always loved the name, Tracemarks, that you've given your blog....I knew we were kindred spirits when I first saw it. And yes, "the trace" is a fascination for me on all the levels you mention!
