A Southern Winter Wonderland
Happy post-Christmas greetings to you all! I'll be back tomorrow with a guest artist to feature for A Walk Through The Universe post, but thought I'd share the winter wonderland we are currently experiencing here in Athens, Georgia....where it is looking not much different than the South Dakota I left behind! I believe I heard it is only the second white Christmas on record! The snowfall is beautiful, of course, but after five years in South Dakota....not the novelty it once was! Hope you are enjoying a lovely holiday weekend with friends and family!

So pretty! We usually have a sizzling Christmas but yesterday was pleasantly cool and today is similar. Good Christmas book reading weather! Best wishes for 2011, Patti.
ReplyDeleteHi Patti! Lovely view. Our predicted major snowfall is just gathering force here in Boston. We've been lucky so far, but this one looks to be susbstantial. Just walked home from the studio in the midst of it. Yes, I'm still working...do I ever really take a day off? In recent days as I attempt to wrap up 2010 and clear the way for 2011, my mental "group meetings" have been very much like the ones you described keeping you up all night! So alike, we are. My characters have different names, like The One Who Wants to Write in a Secluded Garret, and The One Who Digs Crocheting Cute Accessories, and Chief Financial Officer, and Marketing Analyst, and Can't I Just Lie Down and Read a Novel Today? Not to mention I Have So Many Unexplored Ideas for Patti's Box my Brain Just Grew Two Hat Sizes! But you get the picture...not enough days in the week for each to have their due. All the best to you my multitasking twin!
ReplyDeleteRobyn, hope you have some great new reading to keep you engaged!
ReplyDeleteReturning best wishes for the coming year!!!
Gabriella....of course, I laughed out loud at your cast of characters! You guys must have been the noise makers in the conference room next door! Eeeks....I'm going to hear it from my Chief Financial Officer and the Marketing Analyst....they weren't even invited to my meetings! May 2011 mark a wonderful turning point in your life, filled with wonderful surprises! Enjoy!
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderful view.Like it to see what's winter like in other countries!I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place, like Narnia!! We have high humidity and misty rain... I'd love a piece of that snow...I think I'd melt it on my arms!! :)
ReplyDeleteIngrid...thanks for your comment! Being out of town throws off my rhythm and am now home and able to get caught up on things! It was a wonderful Christmas with family...along with the unexpected snow! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteLouise...it's still very early in our winter here...your humidity and misty rain sounds pretty good right now! That snow in Athens melted pretty quickly, but sure was pretty when it first fell! Big snow coming in a couple days here in South Dakota...time to hunker down! Happy New Year!
