Winter Meditation No.3

Winter Meditation No.3
Winter is clearly upon us now, as a blizzard has brought several fresh inches of snow, drifted into bizarre formations from the 30 mile an hour winds!  These are busy times for every one, but still I find myself reflecting on plans for the coming year.  I am rethinking the blogs, including this one, MissouriBendStudio and MissouriBendPaperWorks, where I have a daily posting of a found text poem.  Keeping up with two blogs is getting to be too much to handle and I think I will combine them in some way, but things haven't quite settled into place yet...still in the pondering stage....the kind that occasionally wakes you up in the middle of the night with the nudge of an idea, then keeps you tossing and turning for hours on end!  I need the structure of a regular posting, but I just don't have the time I did when I started that first blog nearly a year ago.  My plan was to do the daily found text poem for at least a year and then reevaluate.  I love making those little poems, but don't know if I can still make it a daily ritual.  I had absolutely no idea that first week in January 2010 where my life would be at this point in time....does any of us really?  The blogs are important to me, so I'm still working out how to make sure the blog I end up with is as meaningful for you as it is for me...a place to learn and grow and share!  Once again, I'm here to thank you for your comments, your support and the thread you each represent in a the woven fabric that is my life.  I am looking forward with great cheer to see what happens next!  See you here tomorrow with a new posting for A Walk Through The Universe!  Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

  1. Patti, I can't imagine how you kept up with the two distinct spaces for this long! I think it's a great idea to combine them somehow, after all, they do share certain aspects of what makes up your rich and varied creative and philosophical landscape! I think too many people start something with great enthusiasm and then when situations change over time they freak out believing their venture has failed, when actually it is just due for a re-evaluation. A good artist knows that what you take out is just as important as what you take in. Everything has its purpose, but to know when and how to modify plans while still honoring their original intent is a great gift indeed. I am in "rethink" mode too, as the year draws to a close..so many ideas for new avenues to explore, and so much broken sleep as the groundwork for those ideas gets theoretically constructed! I'm glad I'm not alone! I wish you the best in the next steps on your journey. Just see how far you've already come! Phew!

  3. Gabriella...thanks so much for you supportive input! That daily found poetry blog was my first step in a new life and a kind of commitment to make the changes needed to get me out my rut, so it's been very important to me...not to mention I've enjoyed it so much. But, it is time to recognize another crossroads and to look at the changes that need to be made! Best wishes to you as you reexamine your path as well! Hope you had a fine birthday trip and celebration!

  5. Your latest work has a lovely quiet and understated beauty, it reminds me of winter landscapes and curious patterns in the snow. Whichever path you choose at your cross roads will be full of adventure, opportunities and learning so just go for it and do whatever feels right.
